ICSI new syllabus by Rudra Jaiswal

The council of the institute of company secretary of India in exercise of the power vested under clause (a)of sub-section (2) of section 15 of the company secretary act,1980 . Approved the new syllabus for the cseet ,executive and professional programs of the company secretary course.

The new syllabus of ICSI is in 3 stages.

*1st Stage

Company secretary executive entrance test (cseet).

There are 4 four subject’s

*1st-business communication (50Mark’s)

*2nd-legal aptitude, logical reasoning and quantitative aptitude(70marks)

*3rd-economic and business environment (50Mark’s)

*4th-current affairs (30Mark’s)

*2nd Stage

Executive program in there are  2 groups.

( Group 1 ) There are 4 subject

  • *Part 1- jurisprudence, interpretation and general laws (100 Mark’s)
  • *Part 2-company law and practice in there are 2 part.
  • (I) company law – principles and concepts (60 Mark’s)
  • (II) company administration and meetings (40 Mark’s)

*Part 3- Setting up business, industrial and labour laws

  • (I) setting of business ( 60 Mark’s)
  • (II) industrial and labour laws (40 Mark’s)

*Part 4- corporate accounting and financial management

  • (i) corporate accounting (60 Mark’s)
  • (ii) financial management (60 Mark’s)

( Group 2 )

*Part 1 Capital market and security laws 

  • (i) Capital market (40 Mark’s)
  • (ii) securities laws (60 Mark’s)

*Part 2 Economic, commercial and intellectual property laws

  • (i) economic and commercial law’s (60 Mark’s)
  • (ii) intellectual property laws (40 Mark’s)

*Part 3 Tax and practice

  • (i) direct tax (60 Mark’s)
  • (i) indirect tax (40 Mark’s)

*3rd Stage

*Part 1- environmental, school and Governance (ESG)- principles and practice

  • (iii) environment and sustainability reporting (15 Mark’s)

*Part 2 drafting, pleading and appearances

  • (i) drafting and conveyancing (70 Mark’s)
  • (ii) pleading and appearances (30 Mark’s)

*Part 3 compliance management,audit and due diligence

  • (i) compliance management (40 Mark’s)
  • Audit and due diligence (60 Mark’s)

*Part 4 elective 1
